THERE ARE CHANGES TO YOUR CLASS TIMES DURING THIS WEEK - PLEASE CHECK THESE CAREFULLY.

Students are also required to attend class "concert ready".
IMPORTANT - Please note: Group photos of each class will be taken. These will be available for purchase by all members of the class. Once photos are purchased, our studio does not control how these are shared. If you would like your child not to be included in group photos, please let us know in writing ASAP, PRIOR to photo day.
What will happen during photo week?

Students will try on costumes ready for concert. Any alterations will be pinned so these can be sewn prior to the big day. All alterations are sewn by our studio staff.

Students will then have a group photo and individual photo in each costume. These will be available for purchase in the coming weeks for those who would like them.

Where there is time, classes will then run routines in their costumes.
We do our very best to ensure our photo weeks run to time, however sometimes sessions can run slightly over.
Photos will again be taken by Heather Rose. Heather has worked with children for well over 20 years and has a working with children check. She has also won a large number of photography awards and we are excited to have her at our studio again.
How to arrive?
Please ensure your child has the required items for photo week (See Below - tan leotard or black singlet, tights, correct shoes etc), hair and make up (if wearing make up) as described in the make up and hair section on this page.
If shoes or tights require cleaning, please do this prior to the day :).

Miss Jenny, Miss Michelle and our staff will be on site to assist students. Parents will be asked to please wait outside to ensure we don’t ruin the surprise for the big day!
For privacy of students changing, windows will also be covered.

CLASS TIMES FOR PHOTO WEEK
Dance Soloists - please attend your regular solo times
Singing, Acting and Music Students - If your child is in singing or acting as well as dance or music, they will still attend these lesson as normal - photos will be organised around these times.

For those who are required to attend a day that is not their normal "dance day", we understand for some, these times may be too challenging due to other commitments. If this is the case, please let us know so that we can ensure we slot your student in for their fitting and photo at another time.
HAIR AND MAKE UP
FOR CONCERT AND PHOTO DAY
HAIR
(PLEASE NOTE: THIS HAS CHANGED FOR 2023)
ALL STUDENTS
Where possible students are to have their hair in a high PONYTAIL.

If your child attends ONLY ballet, please ensure they have their hair in a high bun.
If your child attends ballet and another style, please come with a high ponytail, and bring in their bag, bobby pins and a hair net.
​
STUDENTS WITH VERY SHORT HAIR
Please ensure it is neatly out of their face.
MAKE UP
Make up has always been, and remains optional at our school​.
As stage lights are very strong they tend to wash out Performer’s faces. We recommend that Performers wear basic make up, but it is not compulsory if you or your child does not feel comfortable in make up.

GIRLS - Basic stage make up traditionally consists of:
* Foundation
* Blush
* Brown/Light Brown Eyeshadow
* Eyeliner
* Mascara
* Lipstick (Red)
BOYS - Often boys prefer not to wear stage make up until they are a little older, and it is again, not compulsory. This is for individual families to decide. Boys may wear the same as the girls if they choose, or basic stage make up for boys often consists of:
* Foundation
* Blush

WHAT TO BRING

ALL STUDENTS
TAN LEOTARDS AND BLACK SINGLETS/UNDERWEAR - MUST BE WORN
Costumes will be supplied on the day by Confident Kids and Inspire Academy (hired to students).
You will not need to bring these on the day.

FEMALE STUDENTS
All female students MUST ARRIVE in a tan leotard. This will allow students to change with their other classmates while always remaining clothed and is part of our child protection policy.
Regular class clothes can be worn over the leotard.
Please wear leotards UNDERNEATH tights.
For older students we also recommend a supportive convertible bra with invisible straps.
Tan leotards can be purchased at any dance shop. We also have some sizes available for purchase at reception. These cannot be sold during photo week as there will not be time, please organise prior to this.
MALE STUDENTS
All male students MUST ARRIVE in a black singlet and black underwear (any brand) underneath their regular clothes. This will allow students to change with their other classmates while always remaining clothed and is part of our child protection policy. Regular class clothes can be worn over the singlet.
TIGHTS, PANTS AND SHOES
Please wear leotards UNDERNEATH tights.
For older students we also recommend a supportive convertible bra with invisible straps.
